Makenzie Kaylynn

We have decided that our little muchkin on the way shall be named Makenzie Kaylynn. I love the name. I am so excited, and it feels so good to be able to give the baby that is growing inside of me a name. That way now when I talk to her I can call her by her name. I do talk to her all of the time. It is awesome. Josh really liked the name Makenzie. We won't tell our little princess to be that she is named after a hunting target. haha. and Kaylynn came from a road trip with my amazing sister. We were headed up the coast and stopped in Solvang. As we were eating dinner I saw this candle shop and it was called Kaylin's candles or something of the sort. I really liked the name A LOT. A few minutes later I liked it even more when I realized that it has special meaning behind it as well. Kay is my sister's middle name and Lynn is my mom's. So I am changing the spelling to Kaylynn. I love it love it love it.
I had thought that I had felt her move for a while, but wasn't sure. Everyone told me that it felt like a gas bubble but I never really paid attention to what they felt like in the past. Then someone told me that it feels like a little flutter in your stomach and that is exactly what I felt. As I was home with my family as I laid down at night I felt this weird feeling in my stomach and concluded that it must be little Makenzie stretching out, and the next morning she got the hang of it and I could feel her moving around a bunch. It is still a little surreal that something, rather someone is growing inside of me! So cool. This is where I feel like the guys miss out. Josh has yet to feel her move but I'm sure he will in the near future. She now moves around quite often, especially when I am sitting over the computer. I can hear her in my head, "Um excuse me mom, could you stop hunching over like that...I'm trying to relax here and not be cramped." Haha. I have also officially popped. I will post pictures soon! It is fun! Well that is the update I have now. I was just reminded that it is already 7 and we haven't yet eaten dinner. oops. back to my wifely duties and away from the computer I go. I shall write more later.
Please pray for little Makenzie as you think of her. That God's perfect plan would be carried out for her life! Love you all!

The Little Munchkin is officially a Little GIRL!

Oh my word. It has been an eventful week that is for sure! Last Saturday was our one year anniversary. It is crazy to think that it has already been a year. But then again when I think about all that has happened in that year that it becomes a bit more believable. The day was awesome. I woke up and took the Dukester for a walk and then made some breakfast. Then my hubby told me to get ready and so I did. He took me to the huge mall that is like an hour or so away and let me go on a shopping spree! Are you kidding me? Awesome gift!!! We went to H &M cause the store there has a maternity section. I was able to snag a pair of comfy cute pants and some cute shirts! Then thanks to a guy at Josh's shop we were told about this place called Whiskey Creek and it was delicious. It's a little steak house down the way. Simply amazing! Josh got me tickets to go see Jeremy Camp and Mercy Me when they were here and it was an amazing show! He also surprised me with flowers! They are beautiful! He has really wanted a golf cart one to push his clubs around on so that is what I got him and he was really excited! It was a great day! Then we just went home and cuddled and watched movies. I love cuddling with that man!
So after our anniversary was over we had an appointment on Tues morning for an 18 week ultrasound where we were going to find out what the Little Munchkin was. Oh man. What a disaster. First of all they don't want you to pee for like an hour before your appointment while drinking like 5 glasses of water...are you kidding me...and then they push down on your belly and bladder--super uncomfortable. haha. But I was too excited to really care. Josh was able to get off early so he could go with me so we got ourselves situated in the room and were on pins and needles waiting to hear the exciting news. The ultrasound tech was ridiculous. She whispered so I couldn't hear anything she was saying which was annoying I kept asking her to repeat herself. She then pressed a button and we heard a noise so I was like, "Oh my gosh was that the heart beat?" I didn't know...she didn't tell me it was coming or let us enjoy it. It was on and off...just like that. Ugh whatever. It could have been such an exciting time but slowly and surely she diminished our excitement. It seemed like just a job to her. Here we are talking about bringing a life into this world and it seemed like she was simply waiting for her lunch break. Irritating. So she began to look to see if it was a he or she...she says to us, "Well um...I don't really think I see anything...so i think...i mean i guess its a girl??????" What you guess? What I'm thinking is woman--does it have a penis or not--I mean that is what it boils down to. So I asked her to check again before we were all done and she said no cause she was "pretty" sure. Ugh. Then she has the nerves to ask us if we are going shopping. No you dumb broad you can't even tell us what we are having what in the world are we going to go shopping for...I was beyond irritated. So we went upstairs to see when our next ultrasound was...turns out they don't offer anymore. Lame. So we found out there is this clinic where you can pay 75 bucks to find out what you are having. So I called to set up an appointment and surprise surprise you need a note from your doctor...so I kinda did a little fibbing and convinced the doctor to give me a note...lol...so I went down on Wednesday (Josh's birthday) to find out what we are for sure having. Josh was unable to get out again so Sara and Jaime drove down with me.
What a different experience this was! It was pleasant! Wow...what a shocker. The woman was super sweet and talked through everything that she was doing and was beyond helpful...she checked like 6 times just to be sure..and it is in fact a Little Girl! so exciting. She took some cute little pictures. It is just so surreal to watch the little baby move around inside of me. I can't wait till I can start to feel it! That will be even better! So Josh was able to find out on his 25th birthday that he will be a Daddy to a little girl! So fun! He has told me since we started dating that he wanted to be married and have a baby by the time he was 25 and it turns out that his wishes are coming true! We went out for a birthday celebration dinner at the wonderful Olive Garden and then we went to Kohl's to look at some baby clothes cause now we could go shopping! Oh my word it was hard to choose! I can see why they say babies are sooo expensive. There are so many darn cute outfits! I also see why people say accept pass me downs. haha. It was fun to shop for our little girl! So like I mentioned it was a crazy exciting week with not lots of sleep for me...so I look forward to catching up on some much needed sleep this weekend and some R & R with my hubby! I'm glad that it ended up being an exciting week and finding out that we have a healthy little baby girl on the way! PS while we were watching her on the tv she kept opening and closing her mouth...so cute and rubbing her face! The doc said she is going to have some chubby cheeks...I can't wait to kiss all over them! Well I shall go for now! Love you all!
