Well Hello Again

I haven't posted here in a while. Figured I probably should get back in the habit. So life has been pretty busy lately. I am finishing up my last online class with APU wahoo (I will be so glad to be done with that place) and I got a temporary job at JCPenny just to pass the time and bring in some cash for the holidays. It makes time go by pretty quickly which is good. Well a lot has happened lets see where to begin.
My parents came out for the weekend before Thanksgiving and it was so nice to have them here and for them to see where we are living and all of that jazz. We kept it pretty simple. Went to a really pretty beach called Point No Point and went into Seattle one day. The day that we happened to go to Seattle was the first snow storm that has hit the area in about 2 years. It pretty much shut down the city. It took us around 8 hours to drive 15 miles. The worst part was that we were on our way to the airport to drop off my parents. Needless to say they missed their flight and had to spend the night at the airport because they didn't expect the roads to be in any better condition in the morning. It was sad to see them leave but I was thankful that they were able to come out. Then Josh and I did lots of hanging out around here and got more settled in.
For Christmas it was just us two and I was a little bit nervous about that but it actually worked out well. We went to Church on Christmas Eve and then Christmas morning we opened our presents and went over to Ryan and Morgans for breakfast then came home and just hung out. Then later that night we attempted to eat dinner, but I burnt it. BAD. So we had frozen pizza. Classy! One thing that I love about Josh is that he didn't care. He didn't make a big deal of it. We got ourselves all packed for our big adventure the following day then headed back over to Ryan and Morgans to play some games. We met Ryan's mom and had a blast playing apple to apples. It was fun!
The next day I worked until 2 30 then I came home and packed up and we loaded up in the car and drove down to San Diego. Yes Drove not Flew. The reason being was that airfare was ridiculously over priced, so that we could have our own set of wheels while in town, and to cart Christmas presents there and back and our gifts from the baby shower. It was a good call to drive but it sure was a long one. Josh did most of the driving. As soon as he let me take over for a while, no joke like 5 miles down the road it said be prepared for snow and ice. Now I'm from San Diego so I have no idea how to drive in those conditions...and Josh doesn't like being a passenger anyways let alone when I am nervous about driving. So while the gesture was nice I think I lasted about an hour. haha. I drove again later in the morning but for the most part I rode and slept. OOps. Its the baby...she makes me oh so sleepy.
While we were in San Diego we ate at Jaliscos a lot of course! We celebrated Christmas late with my family. It was kind of nice having the holidays prolonged. It slowed it all down so we could truly enjoy it all instead of rushing around. We had  dinner one night with my dad's side of the family where Grandma convinced everyone that we were having a talent show. Aunt Debbie volunteered to go first and she did the Mickey Mouse dance, Aunt Cathy went home and got her tap shoes and did a performance, my grandma sang a seductive song, my parents did the robot. It was AWESOME! we have it all on video tape so don't be sad if you missed it! Then for those of us who opted out of doing the talent show we placed a cookie on our foreheads and had to slide it down and try to catch it in our mouths without using our hands! I sure do love my family. I love that we can be dorks together and no one judges...
The rest of the time we were down there flew by so fast. It stank. I also got sick which was a bummer. I was out of commission for a few days. I was even sick for my baby shower, but it was still a blast. It was great seeing everyone. It had been far too long. We ate some delicious food of course and then Josh and I were blessed as we received many of the things that we need to be ready for little Makenzie! I didn't have much time to see friends while home which was sad, but I will be returning and next time I will have a little one in tow. CRAZY! As we wrapped up our time and got ready to head back to WA it was a sad day. We drove up to the border of CA and OR and stopped for the night and then made the rest of the journey the following day. You will be proud to know that this time I drove for a total of like 3 hours. Go me! haha. We are now back home and getting all of our gifts set up and settled in place. We have a few more things that we need to order in order to be completely ready for the little one but we still have some time.
Not much though. We have 6 weeks left! Time is going to fly by. The plan is for me to work for the next four and take the last two off just to have time to get everything ready and relax before life changes so drastically. I also am looking forward to my mom and sister visiting. They are coming up for my Mom's bday. They will be here for 4 days and I am beyond excited! Then we will be able to see more of our family as they come out to meet little Makenzie. It won't be long.
Well that my friends is a summary of what life has looked like up here in cold rainy Washington. i will try to be better about updating this more often...I love you all! Have a blessed night!
